Is using my card to pay for goods on distinctlybritish.com safe?

  • We use the ProTx Verified Payment System for credit and debit card purchases.
  • The ProTx VPS is a secure online payment service hosted by ProTx themselves.
  • Your customer credit card details are entered directly on the ProTx server via a secure link.
  • They are not stored on our server or at our offices.
  • ProTx VPS servers are housed in a secure building.
  • Once the data has been sent, our server will communicate with ProTx using only a transaction ID so that no credit card details are sent back and forth.

Why is post and packing charged from each store when I am only making one order, but from more than one store?

  • distinctlybritish.com works like a virtual department store.
  • All goods are displayed in their own manufacturers store - a bit like the stalls at a country market or the perfume franchises in a High Street department store.
  • When you order through distinctlybritish.com, you are ordering direct from the manufacturer, wherever they are based across Great Britain.
  • Each manufacturer will be arranging for your order from them to be sent separately and applying their own pre-arranged post and packing costs.
  • These charges are always notified in your shopping basket.

Why haven't I seen these products on the High Street?

  • Many of the products on distinctlybritish.com are sold in department and specialist shops.
  • Most of the products on display made by specialist regional companies or individual craftsmen and only limited quantities of each item are made.
  • Many of these goods are only sold in the companys' own shop near their own premises or sometimes in a local town.
  • With distinctlybritish.com you can now shop all over Great Britain from the comfort of your own home.

How quickly will I receive my purchases?

  • All deliveries are arranged directly by the store producing the goods you have ordered.
  • When you place an order on distinctlybritish.com, the store will receive it within a maximum of 24 hours. The time of despatch of your order then depends on the type of goods you have ordered, particularly whether your purchase is made to order or held in stock.
  • Where the goods are held in stock,the norm unless notified on the store's pages, goods will normally be despatched to you within 48 working hours.
  • If despatched by first class post, they should arrive within a further 48 hours giving a total time of 4 days from order. However, distionctlybritish.com and the store cannot be responsible for delays in arrival due to postal delays.
  • Where courier services are used, delivery should again be within 48 hours, normally next day.
  • When goods are being made to order, commissioned, the store will contact you direct to arrange individual requiremnts and delivery.
